  1. Genuine GE replacement filters This GE water filter normally comes as a single item in a GE box. With previous bad experiences with non-boxed items bought online (e.g. ink cartridges) I was ‘nervous’ about this pair of unboxed filters. I am happy to advise that they arrived very promptly and are the genuine GE RPWFE filters, brand-new, with the factory shrink-wrap protection and RFID chip included. This chip is essential when changing filters because it ‘talks’ to my GE refrigerator electronics and resets the display…

  2. Works well I get these on Amazon because honestly, they’re darn hard to find anywhere else. They fit my GE French door refrigerator with bottom freezer. While I use these to purify the water for my ice cubes, and those turn out fine, I don’t like the taste of the water from the fridge door. Unfortunately, I don’t have a good way to know if that’s the filter’s fault, or the plastic tubing in the fridge. For ice though, these are great!

  3. I got these to replace our original filter after only … I got these to replace our original filter after only 6 months. GE has quite the racket on these filters, being the same internals as the previous RPWF and adding a $0.02 NFC chip for DRM. The filter does improve the taste and quality of our water, but for $50 it needs to filter a lot more water before plugging up. After only 2 months the flow starts slowing down and then 4 months after that the fridge requests the filter be changed out. Eventually we might try peeling the chip off the bypass…
