615 vs 615A The only difference between the 615 and 615A per a call with the Chef’s Choice, today, is that the 615A is made by a different supplier. To distinguish between the two, the serial number label has a date code on it. This code next to the serial number starts with a Letter. I sent the first one back and…
Issues I deducted one star given there in no onboard sharpener, and another star given the slop in the carriage that slides back and forth. Given the carriage is such a critical part of the overall precision slicing of product. I am perplexed as to why there was not more effort put into closer tolerances. Does not slice Prosciutto or Tirolean Speck thin enough It might cut other things very well but does not work as expected for my purpose. (cutting Prosciutto and/or Tirolean Speck) Therefor I gave it only a 3 rating. Also, especially for my purpose I would like to see a suction feature of the unit to the granite counter. When pushing the meat thru the slicer it wanders all over the place which makes it hard yo cut. It also potentially could be unsafe.
