Don’t every buy a small cannister again. Like most, I read SO many reviews prior to ordering this. But now that I have used it, here is my take: it works great! I wanted to refill the small containers because I wanted portability for my heater. Portability is not so great with a 20lb propane tank. The advice that other reviewers give is spot on. Definitely freeze the empty cannister, definitely turn the large propane tank upside down before opening the valve. I keep one cannister on the heater unit and one in the freezer. I…

Nice unit. Works like it should. Don’t forget to turn your 20lb upside down when filling the 1lb tanks. Also, put your small tanks in the fridge for about 15 to 20 minutes before filling. Cold tanks fill better when cold.

Wish I’d gotten this sooner… Very easy to use and fills 1lb bottles quickly. I used a food scale and found bottle tare was about 15oz and came up to about 31oz when full. I found it helpful to use a small curved needle nose pliers to pull open the relief valve during filling. Keep valve up at the top and watch for slight liquid spray then you’re done. I didn’t need to freeze bottles or do any of that… Filling a bottle without opening the relief valve gets it about half full so if your concerned about overfilling…
