A Can Opener That Really Works Throughout the years it seems as though electric can openers of all sorts, shapes, and sizes have failed me in what they were supposed to do — open a can. I’ve seen and used many of them — from the gimmicky ones that “walk” around the can to the standard sized ones that promise to open your cans with ease. Up till now, I haven’t used or seen one that meets up to the job of opening a can efficiently and consistently — they all seem to break after awhile.
