Difficult toaster, Good cooking. A very nice toaster oven. Unfortunately it doesn’t have the little lever to make toast. One has to turn the timer knob to the right and then to the left and follow the pictures for light or dark. I had read this critique from another buyer and had looked at all the available toaster ovens from the most expensive to the cheapest and they all run in the same fashion so I settled on this intermediate one. Horrible design, but cheap. Most countertops have cabinets above the–that’s the last place you want to put this fire trap. Plus, the “crumb tray” cannot be detached and emptied–you’ve got to carry the entire unit over to the sink or trash can, and then let the crumb tray fall (it’s hinged). I’ve used this for a few months and the exterior is already discolored from heat–and all I’ve ever cooked in it is toast.
For the price it is adequate. Prob expect to replace every 2 years or so. I consider these disposable sine I seem to buy them every 2 years or so. They are very cheaply made, but adequate for the price point. This one is not sealed on the bottom, allowing crumbs to escape onto the counter below. You must use the inner tray to collect the crumbs. Even though, it does not cover the entire cooking surface, allowing crumbs to escape at the outside edges.
