‘Backwoods ladies' gatherings evolve to aid others

About 20 years ago a group of women in the Greenbrier Community used to get together once a month for luncheons. They called themselves the “backwoods ladies” and from their gatherings an idea grew that continues to help needy children in Craven County.

Vintage clothing mavens are opening up their homes for gatherings that rack up sales and good vibes. Over the last decade, vintage shopping in Los Angeles has largely lost its sense of humor.
